366: 29-35

February 7, 2012

29/366 (Jan 29):

The ‘After’ pic from the worst painting experience ever (see Day 27).  Hopefully this spring that disgusting green/blue carpet will be replaced by some lovely wood laminate.

30/366 (Jan 30):  Typical weeknight

31/366 (Jan 31):  At what point can you tell a cactus is dead?  Pretty sure i haven’t watered these guys since Nov…and they look the exact same.  Maybe they’ve been dead all along?

32/366 (Feb 1):  This is like 1/4 of my current yarn stash…

33/366 (Feb 2): Can’t. Stop. Eating. These! ack!

34/366 (Feb 3): Driving during daylight hours is so much better than my typical dark to/from work commute.

36/366 (Feb 4): Utah upped it’s cred recently and opened it’s first BWWs…we’ve been looking forward to this for MONTHS…needless to say it was WELL WORTH the 25min drive South.  Judge all you want.

yarn balls

September 30, 2010

I seriously can’t get over this yarn-inspired table-scape from the Hitched event!

via Green Wedding Shoes

I mean how awesome is that hanging-chandelier-type thing?!

It reminds me of the Starbucks wreath from a few Christmas’ ago…

which I totally planned to replicate…but never did.

hmmmm…perhaps for this Christmas I can put something together that mixes the two?!   It’s October tomorrow people!?  Christmas is only like…3 months from now!!

shoes & a knitted garter

August 12, 2010

If you recall…these were the shoes I decided to wear on my wedding day…

{so pretty-ly photographed by Khara}

I loved them!  …and I was determined to keep these suckers on till after our first dance…which I successfully did!  I don’t actually remember them hurting my feet much…but I must have been blissed-out and numb to pain because I had zero feeling in the majority of my toes for three days after the wedding.

Didn’t they look great with my freshly pedicured purple toes??  Talk about going the non-traditional route!

I love this pic Khara secretly snapped of them when I was heading upstairs at some point during the reception…most likely headed to the shoot shack!

And of course…they looked fabulous paired with my beautiful purple garter

Hand knit by my dear friend C…

She has mad knitting skills…seriously…isn’t it just amazing!?!?  Oh and the yarn* is a knitter’s dream…100% lamb’s wool yumminess!

It was definately one of my favorite details from the entire day.

If you’re thinking of knitting up your own garter…check out C’s pattern on Ravelry!

*yarn is Jade Sapphire – Lacey Lamb

A yarn lover’s dream

November 11, 2009

I have a zillion things to blog about…but haven’t had the time (or energy…) but when I came across these images on Once Wed I just HAD to share…a wedding full of YARN!  Yes YARN!  (well actually it is an inspirational shoot…but if this is the inspiration…imagine how great the wedding will be!)

brace yourself for the greatest ring shot of all time…

stitch-in-time-10

brilliant no?!  I’m considering bringing a ball of purple Malabrigo along to the wedding just so I can score a similarly awesome ring shot!

stitch-in-time-17

I have an embarrassingly large stash full of random skeins of yarn…I can’t help it…there’s just something about the different colors and fibers that I can’t get enough of…I often wish I could just decorate our house with yarn balls…but we have cats…not such a good combo.  This wedding is pretty much a yarn-lovers dream no?

Somebody loves me…

March 26, 2009

…and her name is Mini!  Our cute little orange tabby cat!

Mini and I used to not get along…she is very timid around people she doesn’t know…esp girls.  Not sure why this is…we got her when she was about 2 months old…and I never did anything mean to her…I LOVE CATS…esp cute little orange ones!  So I was kinda bummed at first that she would be allllll ovvverrr Lance….and barely give me a second look…

Well now she gives me “gifts” everyday….this is what I come home to…

img_06651

yes…that is yarn…and one of my slippers.  She seems to really love the purple malabrigo (who can blame her?!…its like the BEST YARN EVER!)…and on this particular day she must have really been in the mood for a little sock yarn too… usually she brings both slippers down…but I guess she got a little tired after the other three trips up and down the stairs…

Thats right…up and DOWN the stairs!  I keep my yarn in our “office” upstairs.  So at some point she drags them out of the cubbies, through the upstairs hallway, down the stairs, through the entry way and leaves them right in front of the door from the garage I come home through every day!  …and if you think that is impressive (because I sure do!)…my slippers end up lord knows where in my bedroom every morning after I get ready and somehow she finds em…and brings em downstairs so they are there waiting for me when I get home!  Amazing!  I’m not sure how she does it…but she doesn’t waste time after I leave…once I was gone for all of 20mins before I realized I forgot something and headed back home… she already had one slipper down and waiting for me!!

I love that when I come home after a long day at work I have little “gifts” waiting for me…what can I say…cats LOVE me!
